Asalaamu Laykum

What's up folks. Now if you a late 80s/90s baby you can really, really appreciate this. I remember back in the day, in the mid to late 90s when the names K-Ci and JoJo and Devante where combustable. I mean just the mention of the name Jodeci almost garuanteed you would have a chance with whatever girl you said it to (it was up to you to seal the deal though). Anyway, that group eventually faded away after the album, The Show; The Party; The Afterset. Then came K-Ci and JoJo, the two singers of the group. And they were hot! Once again, in the late 90's with hits like the remake of If You Think You're Lonely Now, and Lately, and the sure to give you a chance-everybody's prom song in 1998 All My Life. ----Tangent------- I remember doing a Fashion Show where I modeled Tuxedo's for my prom to All My Life. I was one of the cornballs who actually tried to ask the 'girl of my dreams' to prom while I was on stage.....yeah I know......but I digress. ----End Tangent and back to the Point------ Fast forward to now, and you have a very different K-Ci and JoJo. The once infamous group with tapes and CDs sure to be in the college dormroom of every wind humping, hard crotch adjusting so as not to get embarrassed Black American college male, has become (sigh) your dunk uncles at the hood Bar-B-Q in the O'Fallon Park veranda (STL Alumni know what I'm talking about). Complete with shoulder stands, and crack scuplted pecs and abs. Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for..........K-Ci and JoJo........in 2007.

But in fairness, now we'll revisit the early 90s and recognize Jodeci and the real K-ci and JoJo!!!!Yeszur!!

Gnarls Barkley at the Grammys

Yo, I just found this video on Youtube. It features Hip Hop as I love it man, and the progression we have made with it. Anyone who has been 'down' can remember Cee-lo singing way back on Outkast's first album on the cut 'Git up, Git out'. He later went on to connect with his brothers to form the group, Goodie MOb, and finally found himself solo as simply Cee-lo Green the Soul Machine. Recently he caught up with another ole skool Hip Hop head, Danger Mouse, one half of the old duo Danger Doom, to form a group called Gnarls Barkley. Yesterday I dropped their newest video, Smiling Faces off of their debut album, St. Elsewhere. Today I've located a Grammy performance sure to make your head feel tingly. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you.........Gnarls Barkley!

Gnarls Barkley

What it is people!? I haven't blogged in quite a while, but once again, I am back and hopefully I will keep it up this time. To get this year started, I have a nice lil video from my homey Cee-lo Green and Danger Mouse, combined to form 'Gnarls Barkley'. Check out their song, "Smiley Faces".

Peace
